Ensure tax compliance, accuracy in tax assessments, and adherence to legal frameworks across Latin American operations.
Conduct assessment, verification, and reconciliation of corporate income taxes (IRPJ and CSLL) under both Lucro Real (Actual Profit) and Lucro Presumido (Presumed Profit) regimes.
Perform monthly calculations for taxes on revenue and the provision of services: ISS (Municipal Service Tax — with focus on withholding rules and place of service), PIS, and COFINS.
Validate and manage withholding taxes on incoming services (IRRF, CSRF, and withheld ISS).
Oversee and reconcile the calculation of corporate ISR (Impuesto Sobre la Renta), including management of the 30% federal rate applied to corporate service profits.
Control and audit VAT (IVA) applied to local services and imported services (standard 16% rate).
Audit withholding taxes for independent contractors, payroll-related tax items, and mandatory employee profit-sharing (PTU), validating their impact on the local tax base.
Ensure timely submission of all local ancillary obligations (e.g., EFD-Contribuições, EFD-Reinf, DCTF, DCTFWeb, and ECF).
Requirements
Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
Technical Experience: Strong experience with Brazilian tax procedures (specifically IRPJ, CSLL, ISS, PIS, COFINS) and full mastery of accounting principles.
International & Third-Party Experience: Proven experience interfacing with, managing, and auditing deliverables from international accounting firms or external consultancies, with a solid understanding of withholding taxes (WHT) in cross-border service transactions.
Languages: Spanish — advanced to fluent (required for interpreting SAT/DIAN regulations, auditing local tax returns, and coordinating in Mexico and Colombia). English — advanced to fluent (required for corporate reporting to headquarters and global stakeholders, including possible UK-related work).
