Own the financial relationship with assigned B2B clients, acting as their trusted advisor on energy accounting and revenue assurance matters.
Oversee the delivery of monthly financial outputs, including revenue recognition, gross margin, reconciliations, variance analysis, and controls reporting.
Review and challenge analytical work produced by the Customer Financial Assurance team, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and clarity before client submission.
Provide commercial insight into consumption trends, billing performance, and financial risks, translating technical data into clear, actionable recommendations.
Lead client meetings, presenting financial results, performance commentary, and improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with operations, billing, data, and product teams to resolve issues, improve data quality, and strengthen financial controls.
Line management responsibility for Customer Financial Assurance Analysts.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across financial assurance processes, reporting, and client engagement.
Requirements
Strong background in finance, accounting, or commercial analysis, ideally within the energy or utilities sector.
Proven experience managing client relationships and presenting financial insights to senior stakeholders.
Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings clearly to nontechnical audiences.
Strong leadership, influencing, and problem solving skills.
Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools; experience with BI platforms is an advantage.
Outstanding levels of diplomacy and ability to balance multiple considerations in contentious situations.
Experience in the complex workings of the energy market, ideally with large supply portfolios.
Appreciation of the idiosyncrasies of billing platforms and their deployments and how the interact and compare with industry positions.
In depth knowledge of industry protocols, e.g. settlement mechanics, data flows, invoicing of Gross Margin costs.
Experience of Management Accounting, ideally with both B2C & B2B Energy Supply.
Preferably CIMA qualified or studying towards it.
