About this role
Role Overview
Overseeing all aspects of occupational safety management at assigned profit centers
Implementation and adherence of safety policies and programs
Preparing reports and recommending procedures to improve organizational performance
Overseeing the integrity and quality of all Sunbelt Rentals safety protocols at individual branches
Conducting PC safety compliance inspections and audits
Providing training and guidance to Safety Coordinators in each Branch
Identifying deficiencies found during inspections; providing written evaluation of inspection with corrective action requirements
Tracking and trending Regions and Branches to identify adherence to the Sunbelt Rentals Leading Indicator Program
Developing an annual strategic SH&E Business Plan
Leading monthly Safety Coordinator Call for all Coordinators in the region
Developing agenda for and leading the annual Safety Coordinator Boot Camp
Supporting PCM and Safety Coordinator in investigations of incidents and near-misses
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 5 years working with Safety, Health and Environmental Management Systems and implementation of safety programs
Preferred Safety Certification
OHST, CHST, SMS, GSP
Good written and verbal skills when addressing either individuals or groups
Ability to present information in classroom or conference call settings
Ability to develop and execute a strategic plan with measurable goals based on leading and lagging indicator performance
An observable positive attitude
Ability to track and trend performance of multiple locations based on incident data obtained through internal tracking mechanisms
Dependable, motivated, and self-starter
Ability to multi-task and be highly organized
Customer-service oriented
Ability and willingness to travel; overnight travel required
A general overview of OSHA construction and general industry regulation knowledge
Working knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety
An ability to foster credibility with PC Supervisors, Safety Coordinators, and PCMs
Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
