Act as senior in-house legal advisor focused on business transactions and contracting.
Responsible for drafting, negotiating and managing high-profile and/or complex contracts, and managing a team of contracts attorneys in support of the company’s business and growth goals.
Oversee the management of the legal team’s contract templates and contracting playbooks.
Drive cross-functional projects to support new sales strategies, product development and operational improvements; collaborate with all operational areas of the business to anticipate and solve problems proactively.
Provide day-to-day advice on the management of the company.
Advise leadership on client disputes and support the resolution of client disputes.
Partner with compliance team to address evolving legal requirements.
Proactively participate in the mentoring and professional development of attorneys and professionals on the contracts team.
Oversee contract lifecycle management, including approvals, renewals, amendments, and recordkeeping.
Track and analyze contracting trends, cycle times, and risk exposure; recommend improvements based on data and best practices.
Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
JD from an accredited U.S. law school and active license to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
10+ years of law firm and/or in-house legal work experience, with a minimum of 4+ years of experience in healthcare.
Experience within a growing or complex healthcare organization strongly preferred.
Prior experience leading or managing a contracts team strongly preferred.
Deep understanding of healthcare contracting and regulatory framework.
