Develop and deliver a UK reward strategy aligned to organisational priorities, workforce plans and affordability targets.
Lead annual pay review activity, salary benchmarking, pay modelling and scenario analysis using credible market data.
Own reward frameworks including salary structures, job evaluation, grading, bonus and incentive design, benefits and recognition.
Strengthen reward governance by ensuring robust controls, clear approvals, accurate documentation and clear decision-making.
Provide expert advice on equal pay, pay transparency, gender pay gap reporting, pay policy statements and reward-related employment law.
Partner with Finance, Procurement and business leaders to balance competitiveness, fairness, employee experience and cost control.
Manage relationships with external advisers and providers such as survey houses, benefits vendors and job evaluation partners.
Support organisational change, restructures and workforce transformation by providing reward insight, risk assessment and implementation support.
Produce high-quality papers, dashboards and briefings for senior leaders, boards, committees and trade union consultation.
Coach HR colleagues and line managers on reward principles, pay decisions and the practical application of policy.
Requirements
Significant experience in reward, compensation and benefits, or broader strategic HR roles with substantial reward accountability.
Strong technical knowledge of pay frameworks, job evaluation, benchmarking, benefits, pay modelling and reward governance.
Sound understanding of UK employment law and reward-related compliance, including equal pay, gender pay gap reporting and emerging pay transparency expectations.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify risks, and turn insight into clear recommendations.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing capability, with credibility at senior leadership level.
Experience of leading change, managing complexity and delivering to tight deadlines.
Experience in organisations with complex governance and multiple employee populations.
CIPD qualification, specialist reward qualification, or equivalent professional expertise.
Experience of working with trade unions, remuneration committees, board papers or formal consultation processes.
