Determine information technology needs for a specific department.
Train personnel in the use of assigned software.
Make recommendations for software solutions to department’s needs.
Evaluate the effectiveness of a software solution by measuring the quality and results through testing against department requirements.
Ensure software remains updated and operating through ongoing maintenance.
Ensure the integrity of data within the system by minimizing opportunities for corruption.
Liaise with vendors and/or information services department to resolve software issues.
Install and maintain temperature monitoring software.
Maintain and repair the medication repacking system, code tray/kit replenishment system and liquid dose packing system as well as pharmacy printers.
Assist in the installation, relocation and preparation of new pharmacy equipment.
Collaborate in managing drug shortages.
Provide on-call support for emergencies and downtime issues.
Reconfigure existing medication cabinetry to reflect current medication trends.
Support user account information including network access, access to ADM systems, etc.
Work to develop standard and cost-effective inventory levels on all automated pharmacy dispensing machinery.
Monitor ADT override activities and medications.
Ensure proper report generation from pharmacy information system on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, and ensure that said reports are properly filed, delivered or archived in accordance with all State and Federal Laws.
Communicate all appropriate identified pharmacy information system concerns/problems to Pharmacy Director.
Requirements
Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred.
3 years of experience preferred.
Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills.
