Lead and document safety assessments for advanced defense systems, ensuring alignment with established safety program plans and industry standards
Perform Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Sub-system Hazard Analysis, and System Hazard Analysis to identify risks and drive mitigation strategies early in the development lifecycle
Conduct in-depth safety analyses to support safety requirements verification, including Reliability Prediction Analysis (RPA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
Collaborate closely with system engineering teams to ensure designs remain compliant with applicable safety requirements and standards
Contribute to the development of robust, safety-driven engineering practices that support the reliability and certification readiness of autonomous systems
Support cross-functional teams in solving complex engineering challenges where safety and performance must move hand in hand
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related engineering field
5+ years of experience performing Systems Safety Assessments in aerospace, defense, or other safety-critical industries
Strong understanding of safety methodologies and deliverables, including hazard analysis and reliability assessments
Working knowledge of ARP4761 and related safety documentation and processes
Experience with defense systems and standards such as STANAG 4297 and MIL-STD-882E is a strong advantage
Hands-on experience with safety analysis tools for RPA, FMEA, and FTA
Familiarity with Isograph Reliability Workbench software is a plus
Strong analytical thinking and the ability to translate complex technical challenges into practical safety solutions
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams
