About this role
Role Overview
Design, develop, Maintain Remote Control system for new/existing Caterpillar machine programs
Provide technical leadership for Remote Control LOS and NLOS systems, ensuring consistency, quality, and readiness across machines and platforms.
Support execution of the Remote Control product roadmap and NPI programs as a core technical subject matter expert.
Lead system integration and validation for Remote Operator Station, LOS Consoles, and machine interfaces.
Define engineering requirements for Remote Operator Station features and change requests.
Own and maintain internal Remote Operator stations, including software and hardware deployments.
Support risk management, functional safety, and regulatory compliance for new products and markets.
Coordinate cross‑functional engineering execution, including schedules, budgets, and readiness.
Serve as a primary point of contact, providing clear status, timelines, and insights to stakeholders and Product Groups.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science; advanced degree preferred
Proven experience in Product Development and Validation of heavy equipment (robotics or autonomous vehicles preferred)
New Product Introduction (NPI) experience for complex machines or product features
Strong technical background in complex hardware–software systems
Experience in working with Linux based Software and Systems
Familiarity with agile development methodologies
Exposure to verification and validation of safety ‑ critical software and systems
Experience delivering programs to production
Excellent analytical, problem ‑ solving, and project leadership skills
