About this role
Role Overview
- Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, the compounding technician II works in a clean room compounding medication at least 50% of the time.
- Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies.
- Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
- Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations.
- Assists with ensuring quality standards are met.
- Ensures all compounding and packaging is inspected and approved by a licensed pharmacist.
- Ensures pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
- Calibrates equipment to ensure accurate functioning.
- Assists with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature & cleaning logs.
- Trains and mentors Compounding Technician I's.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
- Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
- Able to perform basic & intermediate level mathematical calculations.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Word.
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel.
- Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint.
