About this role
Role Overview
Lead the strategy, design, delivery and continuous improvement of enterprise technology infrastructure and workplace services
Define and execute infrastructure roadmaps aligned to business priorities, security, resilience and future growth
Reduce technical debt while improving performance, reliability and employee technology experience
Champion and continually improve the end‑to‑end employee technology experience across workplace tools, devices and core collaboration platforms
Manage $30M in annual IT operating expenditure (opex) and $7M in annual capital investment (capex)
Custodial responsibilities for managing the company’s total technology spend on behalf of the CIO and IT Leadership Team (ITLT), exceeding $100M per annum and 300+ vendors
Establish strong financial governance, budgeting, forecasting and cost transparency across IT
Drive sustainable cost optimisation while clearly articulating the value of IT services to the enterprise
Uplift financial literacy and commercial discipline across technology leadership teams
Lead strategic sourcing, supplier performance and commercial negotiations across IT
Ensure vendors deliver measurable value, service excellence and innovation aligned to Aurecon’s strategy
Oversee contracts, service levels, benefit realisation and long‑term technology partnerships
Lead and develop senior managers across infrastructure, hosting, connectivity, workplace technology, finance and commercial portfolios
Responsible for leading an organisation of over 100 people
Build trusted relationships with the Executive, Finance leadership and regional stakeholders
Act as a key advisor to the CIO on technology investments, risk and commercial outcomes
Requirements
10+ years’ experience in senior IT leadership roles within complex, enterprise environments
Strong background in technology infrastructure, IT service management and commercial governance
Proven success managing large budgets, vendor portfolios and financial performance
Ability to balance innovation with risk, cost control and long‑term sustainability
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills
Experience leading and developing high‑performing, geographically dispersed teams
