Role Overview
- Write functional specifications and design specifications for system software
- Implement solutions to small-sized problems using C, C++, and python
- Write test plan specifications and implement automated tests
- Debug problems found by automated test programs
- Collaborate with Customer Support Engineers to analyze and fix network problems
- Mentor new and junior engineers
- Create schedules for implementation tasks and report progress
Requirements
- BSc, MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering with 2+ years of related post graduate work experience
- Knowledge of C, C++, and/or python
- Knowledge of UNIX or Linux
- Understanding of L2/L3 networking, IP routing protocols, and layer 2 features
- Ability to utilize, test, and debug packet forwarding engine
- Hands-on experience in the design and development of ethernet bridging or routing
- Strong problem solving and software troubleshooting skills
- Experience in software engineering principles
- Ability to design and implement solutions to small-sized problems without help
