Role Overview
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and partnerships
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations
- Analyze financial records, accounting data, and supporting documentation
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to clients or management
- Assist with tax planning and research on complex tax issues
- Respond to tax notices and assist with audits when necessary
- Maintain accurate and organized client files and documentation
- Stay current on changes in tax laws and industry regulations
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience preparing tax returns
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations
- Experience with tax preparation software and accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines during peak tax seasons
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is a plus
- Public accounting or tax firm experience preferred
