Facilitate and manage the preparation and review company federal payroll tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all payroll tax forms
Ensure accurate, timely filing of other business-related filings
Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company payroll tax procedures
Develop and implement strategic payroll tax planning for all necessary federal and state payroll taxes
Serve as the subject matter expert on payroll tax compliance, advising internal stakeholders on payroll tax implications and regulatory changes
Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process
Manage and facilitate federal, state and local payroll tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation
Provide support with various internal audits and special tax related projects
Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections
Research and resolve payroll-related tax notices
Oversee tax account registrations, closures and maintenance across all jurisdictions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required
5+ years of experience in a payroll taxes or public accountant role
At least 2 years of experience in a tax management role
