Tax Supervising Senior

Role Overview

• Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations
• Assumes responsibility for larger tax returns and delegates tasks to various tax preparers
• Participates actively in client meetings and tax planning efforts
• Assumes tax preparation responsibility for more complex business returns
• Manages governmental tax examinations and may represent clients before taxing authorities
• Supervises tax staff and provides on-the-job training

Requirements

• At least five (5) years' experience in public accounting
• At least two (2) years' experience representing clients before taxing authorities
• Minimum of one (1) year experience supervising and directing work of tax preparers
• Bachelor's degree in accounting required, master's degree in taxation preferred
• Either hold a current and valid CPA license or be working toward obtaining the license
• Minimum of forty hours of continuing education required each year to maintain skills
