Provides technical analysis and reviews for energy efficiency projects, provides project risk assessment
Perform building walk through and identify energy conservation measures (architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) in commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities
Customizes software and spreadsheets to achieve desired technical results and presentations
Provides project financial analysis including energy savings, simple payback, project life cycle costs and comparisons to relevant options
Serves as interface with utility incentive programs, determines project qualifications, completes required calculations or energy models, performs onsite project reviews with utility authorities, guides and completes post installation measurement and verification and analysis of data for submission to utility
Determines and proscribes best methods for measurement and verification of system performance
Conducts interim reviews during project construction to assess impact of any changes to the original contract scope of work
Creates energy models (TRACE, eQuest, DOE2) to assess and quantify energy savings for the proposed scope of work including equipment replacements, controls installation and for optimizing control strategies
Performs preliminary equipment selections in DST
Maps out and designs project layout (baseline information) in energy/utility accounting software
Analyzes data output for trends and/or any deviations that need further investigating
Provides expertise in new technologies and new techniques for project implementation
Reviews contract documents and conducts job surveys
Assists in the preparation of cost estimates for projects
Reviews equipment submittals for incorporation into design
Maintains customer satisfaction by investigation concerns, implementing corrective action and communication with staff, as needed, providing customer feedback
Participates in sales calls and project specific presentations
Trains sales and support staff in use of evaluation tools, and utility/state/federal energy efficiency specific programs, new technologies, basic HVAC concepts and system operations
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
6-8+ years of related experience with HVAC, controls, or electrical systems
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP)
Experience with TRACE, eQuest, and/or DOE2
