Role Overview
Quickly learn and apply analytical methods, procedures, and techniques to solve problems
Lead a variety of projects including technical evaluations and analyses in the area of Anticipated Operational Occurrences, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Reactor Heat Balance, and Thermal Hydraulic Fuel Channel Analyses
Perform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses in the areas of Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses
Perform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses in the areas of BWR stability
Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations
Prepare, communicate, and present complex technical issues to internal and external customers and recommend solutions
Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards.
Requirements
B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or similar)
Master's degree in engineering (preferred)
Experience with BWR core simulation and thermal-hydraulic systems codes (desired)
Background in power plant or process plant thermal hydraulics (desired)
Possess fundamental knowledge of BWR Systems and integrated plant response (desired)
Knowledge of the fundamental principles of nuclear engineering such as nuclear physics, thermal hydraulics, and mechanical design, as applied to BWR (desired)
Knowledge of power plant or process plant thermal hydraulics (desired)
Knowledge of two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques (desired)
Experience with Best Estimate and CSAU applications (desired)
Programming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON (desired)
