Energy Market Simulation Analyst, Intern

Role Overview

• Collate information related to power markets and convert it to actionable knowledge especially for modelling.
• Create and improvise energy market models especially for SCED and power flow analytics.
• Analyze and generate market usable insights from the modelling.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and energy experts, to design practical solutions.
• Convert complex insights into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Energy Systems, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research or a related field.
• Programming skills in Python, R, Julia or similar languages is a must.
• Exposure to PyPSA or similar tools for power systems modelling strongly preferred.
• Good understanding of optimization framework and exposure to tools such as Pyomo and solvers such as HiGHS, Gurobi etc is highly preferred.
• Understanding of Power Markets is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of US power markets is an added bonus but not necessary.
• Machine learning skills are a plus but not necessary.
