Lead and mentor an established team of Backend (Go) and Frontend (Vue.js) engineers
Focus on retention and individual professional growth through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career planning
Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative engineering culture within the existing group
Serve as a technical subject matter expert in Kubernetes
Participate in architectural reviews and design discussions, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and cloud-native
Bridge the gap between backend complexity and frontend usability
Drive engineering best practices, including code quality, testing standards (unit/integration/e2e), and security
Partner closely with Product Managers to define the roadmap, estimate effort, and prioritize the backlog
Collaborate with other Engineering Managers to identify dependencies, resolve bottlenecks, and align on cross-team technical initiatives
Balance the delivery of new features with the necessity of maintenance and technical debt reduction
Requirements
Engineering Management Experience: 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams, with a track record of delivering complex enterprise software
Deep Coding Expertise: Strong background in software development with Go is desired, however, a strong background in C, C++, and Java is acceptable
Kubernetes Mastery: Advanced knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem. You understand how to build applications for Kubernetes, not just run them on it
Full-Stack Awareness: Experience managing or working with frontend engineers. Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js preferred, or React/Angular) and how they consume backend APIs
Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering Leaders, Product Management, Customer Support and Sales to translate business requirements into technical specifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant industry experience
