Claims Representative – General & Product Liability

Role Overview

• Processes lower level product liability claims by gathering information to determine liability exposure;
• Assign reserve values to claims, determines risk transfer (tender opportunities);
• Settle claims up to designated authority level;
• Make claim payments as necessary;
• Develops and coordinates lower value product liability claims;
• Prepares action plans pursuant to the claim or client contract;
• Negotiates settlements within designated settlement authority;
• Administers subrogation of claims;
• Communicates claim action with claimant and client;
• Ensures claim files are timely handled; properly documented; and claims coding is correct;
• Maintains professional client relationships;
• Performs other duties as assigned;
• Supports the organization's quality program(s);
• Travels as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred.
• Two (2) years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience or successful completion of Claims Representative training required.
