Role Overview
- Lead and deliver civil engineering design across complex built ‑ environment projects, including site development, drainage, pavements and access
- Prepare and review civil design outputs, drawings and specifications, ensuring quality, compliance and constructability
- Resolve design gaps and coordinate interfaces across disciplines within multidisciplinary project teams
- Apply engineering judgement to address complex technical challenges on constrained sites
- Support and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and constructive feedback
- Contribute to planning and resourcing of design packages or workstreams within larger projects
- Engage with internal stakeholders and project teams to support positive client outcomes
- Promote safe, sustainable and compliant engineering design in line with industry standards
Requirements
- Strong experience as a civil engineer within the built environment, ideally in a consultancy environment
- Proven capability delivering civil design on building ‑ led or precinct projects rather than council ‑ focused planning works
- Experience supporting or leading components of large, complex projects
- Defence or defence ‑ adjacent project experience is desirable but not essential
- Proficiency with standard civil engineering design software (e.g. 12D, Civil 3D or similar)
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
- Confidence working across multiple stakeholders and managing priorities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Working toward, or eligibility for, professional engineering accreditation is advantageous
