Conducts research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of parts, mechanisms, and systems.
Contributes to the development of innovative new products that meet very high customer requirements and achieve internal targets for cost, reliability, and performance.
Secures all required standards and regulatory documentation related to research and development.
Participates in project planning and may be asked to lead projects.
Prepares cost and time estimates, reports and design specifications.
Designs parts and systems.
Produces drawings and associated documentation required for assembly while meeting cost, quality and reliability requirements.
Prepares contractual documents and evaluates bids/submissions.
Supervises technicians and other designers/engineers (when applicable), and reviews and approves designs, calculations and cost estimates.
Optimizes designs to ensure system competitiveness and proposes solutions aligned with recognized industry practices.
Participates in mentoring, training and performance evaluation of the engineering team.
Requirements
5 to 8 years of experience in a mechanical or aerospace engineering role.
Experience in manufacturing aerospace mechanical products.
Proficiency in CATIA V5 is required.
Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken, to support English-speaking clients (approximately 50% of the time).
Membership in the professional engineering association (e.g., P.Eng.) is required.
