About this role
Role Overview
Facilitate the credit needs of customers by underwriting new requests and material modifications from deal screen through approval and for the life of the loan.
Manage the ongoing credit risk of existing loan portfolios through continuous credit monitoring (CCM) activities enabling the timely identification of emerging credit risk.
Review all pertinent credit and financial information, including financial statements, tax returns, due diligence reports, credit bureaus, appraisals, internal credit information, industry research and peer data.
Analyze financial information and related materials and complete the credit analyses for the Bank’s commercial transactions.
Make appropriate structure recommendations based on analyses including the company's case, bank's base case and a downside case.
Identify suspicious activity and activity that may be contrary to customer's interest.
Partner proactively with relationship managers throughout the deal process, maintain timely and accurate risk ratings for a portfolio of commercial credits.
Prepare cash flow, collateral schedules, covenant sensitivity calculations, financial models, and guarantor statement analysis as appropriate.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and 7 years’ experience in complex credit underwriting, specialty underwriting, or other complex financial analysis role.
In lieu of degree, a combined minimum 11 years’ higher education and work experience, to include 7 years’ experience in complex credit underwriting, specialty underwriting, or other complex financial analysis role.
Excellent analytical skills with a high level of proficiency in financial modeling and analysis of credit transactions / structures.
Ability to calculate and interpret financial ratios, analyze data, and complete trend analysis to understand and minimize credit risks.
Proficient with legal documentation including experience and skill in negotiating legal documentation and the ability to structure transactions independently.
