Design and develop mechanical components and systems for automotive applications, such as chassis, suspension systems, drivetrains, and powertrains, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Analyze and optimize mechanical designs for performance, efficiency, durability, and weight reduction while maintaining safety standards and cost-effectiveness.
Plan and conduct tests, including simulations and physical testing, to validate designs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and safety regulations.
Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, and documentation for regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, manufacturing experts, and suppliers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components into the overall vehicle design.
Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings. Develop prototypes for testing and validation to ensure functionality and reliability.
Requirements
A passion for automotive, especially in the field of Autonomous & Zero Emission Vehicles.
Experience with CAD systems such as CREO & NX
Experience with PLM systems such as Windchill & Teamcentre
Experience in automotive mechanical design, including familiarity with automotive systems, materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly technique
Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles specific to automotive applications.
Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong Technical & Engineering skills, with in depth knowledge of end to end vehicle engineering processes and acronyms (V Model, ASPICE, ECWVTA, DFMEA, FEA, CFD, DvP etc)
Proficiency in simulation and analysis tools for structural, thermal, or fluid dynamics analysis.
