Job Description
We are seeking an Application Solutions Architect to join our team supporting Corporate Channels, Payments, Accounting Services, Commercial Card, and related domains across the US, EMEA, and APAC. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in commercial banking technology, enterprise solution architecture, APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms and a proven ability to define end-to-end architectures that align to strategy, meet non-functional requirements, and guide delivery teams.
Responsibilities:
- Define architectural vision and solution architectures aligned to business strategy, enterprise principles, and platform choices.
- Articulate solution intent, operating environment, primary systems and interfaces, and non-functional requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and assess impacts of design decisions.
- Work with business and technology teams to shape solution intent and architectural direction.
- Rapidly develop high-level designs and refine details as requirements evolve; ensure modular, flexible, and adaptable designs.
- Apply best practices, templates, and standards to produce architectural documentation.
- Partner with Product Managers/Owners to prioritize technology backlog items for the architecture runway.
- Provide guidance to development teams on architectural aspects and offer solution options to resolve impediments.
- Conduct design reviews to confirm security, performance, scalability, usability, and reliability requirements are met.
- Operate as an individual contributor within a global architecture team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of technology experience in Banking/Financial Services.
- Commercial Banking domain expertise in Corporate Payments, Commercial Card, Corporate Channels, Accounting Services, and Liquidity Management.
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.
- Proven end-to-end solution design and architectural documentation skills.
- Expertise in API design, microservices, and integration platforms.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of modern application architectures using Java, .NET (C#), Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (Angular, React).
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences; effective stakeholder engagement and coordination.
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving, and an innovative mindset.
- Ability to drive shared service strategies and continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- TOGAF 9 certification.
- Cloud Solutions Architect certification (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
Top Skills:
- Commercial banking technology experience with focus on payments and cash management.
- Clear communication with junior and senior technology and business partners.
- End-to-end solution design leadership.
