Peak Design is dedicated to creating innovative gear for detail-oriented individuals, and they are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. The role involves ensuring successful mass production of hard goods, collaborating with various teams, and maintaining product quality while pushing design boundaries.
Responsibilities:
- Work with PD team, design team, and global colleagues on new product introduction, understanding the requirements of the goods, and providing suggestions to improve
- Making recommendations for DFM, sourcing for suppliers, cost and terms negotiations and feedback improvements to design team
- Review manufacturing programs for factory and major vendors, and identify areas for improvement. This includes ensuring that their manufacturing processes are in place, proper controls, and documentation
- Work on golden samples, sign off the details, and maintain revisions
- Update engineering documents to reflect changes in production or ECOs. This includes updating documents to reflect any changes in production or engineering change orders (ECOs), and ensuring that all relevant documentation is up to date and accessible to the appropriate personnel
- Assist in root causes of development issues and implement corrective actions. This includes working with the factory to investigate the root causes, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring that the corrective actions are effective and that issues do not recur in MP
- Organize and maintain critical documentation and communications related to product manufacturing. This includes organizing and maintaining critical documentation and communications related to product manufacturing, ensuring that all relevant documentation is up to date and accessible to the appropriate personnel
- Communicate with Peak Design product operations on the status of production and identify potential issues early on. - Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in hard goods design and manufacturing, and work with designers and engineers to implement improvements. - Develop test plans, execute them, and analyze results to ensure new product designs meet performance requirements. Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Basic English proficiency with clear verbal and written communication skills for Zoom and email collaboration
- 3D CAD design experience with real parts or fixtures; SolidWorks or Onshape preferred but not required
