International Remote Senior Software Engineer

Break Sports is an online destination for recreational sports, and they are seeking an experienced remote Software Engineer to build out their sports & rec operating system. The role involves developing and maintaining web applications, collaborating with teams, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain web applications using Node, Express, Koa, React, Next
• Work on a variety of projects, from small bug fixes to large-scale features
• Collaborate with other engineers and designers to implement new features
• Review and improve existing code
• Mentor and train junior engineers
• Ensure performance and scalability of Break The Love's app
• Advise and direct team on architectural decisions
• Review pull requests for code quality, performance and security

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
• Experience working with remote teams
• Strong understanding of javascript libraries and web applications
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to work core hours of 9am - noon pacific time
• Great spoken and written English
• Experience with scheduling systems and/or payments a plus
