Shulman Fleming & Partners is seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst with deep subject matter expertise in commercial and syndicated lending. In this role, you will act as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical engineering teams, responsible for translating complex lending requirements into technical specifications and ensuring successful delivery of new models and integrations.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, and document business requirements from different downstream and translating them into detailed technical specifications for development teams
- Serve as the functional and technical SME for Commercial Lending. Must demonstrate deep understanding of the lifecycle and technical architecture of:
- Deal and Facility setup
- Drawdowns / Outstandings
- Payments, Fees, and Pricing
- Customer/Borrower profiles and Syndication
- Data Modeling & Mapping: Leverage deep knowledge of the Loan IQ Data Model to map source-to-target data requirements. Design data extraction rules for data warehousing, reporting, and integration with downstream banking systems
- Database Querying & Analysis: Write and execute complex SQL queries (across Oracle, Databricks, Snowflake etc.) against the Loan IQ database to troubleshoot issues, validate data migrations, and verify system behavior
- System Integration: Collaborate with software engineers and data architects to design event-driven data flows in and out of newly designed modals
- Testing & Validation: Develop comprehensive functional and technical test cases, coordinate SIT (System Integration Testing) and UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and validate that technical deliveries meet the defined business objectives
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date functional and technical design documents, data dictionaries, and system process flows
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Systems Analyst within the banking, financial services, or commercial lending domain
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on technical experience with Finastra Fusion Loan IQ
- Proven, demonstrable experience navigating and querying the Loan IQ underlying relational database. You must know how the core tables connect (e.g., how a Deal relates to a Facility, and how a Payment impacts outstanding balances at the table level)
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts
- Strong foundational knowledge of corporate lending, syndicated loans, agency functions, and bilateral loans
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical data models to non-technical business stakeholders
- Familiarity with modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake) is a strong plus
- Undergraduate degree top 50 universities preferred
