Contribute to the definition, evolution and maintenance of RNP's network architecture, collaborating on the analysis, design, deployment and documentation of high-capacity connectivity solutions for metropolitan networks, backbone networks and national information highways.
Support technical standardization, integration between network domains, the adoption of routing and IP/MPLS best practices, and the troubleshooting of medium-complexity incidents, ensuring high availability, scalability and operational quality of the infrastructure.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Networks or other related technology or telecommunications fields.
Practical experience in engineering, operation, deployment or maintenance of IP networks, preferably in backbone environments, metropolitan networks, academic networks, carriers, connectivity providers, data centers or medium
to large-scale corporate environments.
Professional experience consistent with a mid-level role, demonstrating the autonomy to carry out medium-complexity tasks, collaborate with different technical teams, analyze network problems, propose solutions and document architectures, procedures and technical standards.
Experience working with network equipment such as routers and switches using command-line interfaces, analyzing configurations, interpreting logs, performing connectivity tests and supporting incident resolution.
Solid knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, routing, switching and connectivity troubleshooting.
Practical knowledge of routing protocols, especially BGP and OSPF, including neighbor concepts, route announcements, filters, routing policies, redistribution, summarization, route preference and routing table analysis.
Knowledge of IP/MPLS, including labels, LSPs, traffic transport over an MPLS backbone and logical separation of services.
Knowledge of services running over IP/MPLS or backbone networks, such as L2VPN, L3VPN, EVPN, network interconnection, IP peering and IP transit.
Knowledge of metropolitan network architecture, including interconnection of points of presence, traffic aggregation, redundancy, high availability, capacity planning, service segmentation and integration with access networks or partner networks.
Knowledge of national backbone and information-highway concepts, including resilience, geographic redundancy, path diversity, scalability, traffic capacity, connectivity patterns and inter-domain integration.
Experience configuring and operating network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) from vendors such as Cisco, Huawei, Juniper and Nokia.
Familiarity with services that support network operation, especially DNS, web servers, RADIUS and TACACS+.
Practical experience with Linux, including command line, permissions, services, logs, processes, networking on Linux systems, connectivity testing and basic to intermediate troubleshooting.
Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, diagrams, implementation records, configuration standards and support materials for operation and deployment.
Technical English for reading documentation, troubleshooting and basic technical writing.
