install, configure, secure, administer, and monitor SQL Server infrastructure (on-prem and Azure: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
provide production support and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
troubleshoot issues, document procedures, and guide Root Cause Analysis and resolutions
develop and implement backup, recovery, and database management strategies, including upgrades and patches
support Agile/Scrum processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
mentor team members, foster collaboration, and serve as technical lead on projects
research and recommend SQL Server/Azure technologies, addressing risks and integrating automation and monitoring tools
Requirements
8+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server administration, T-SQL development, and backup/recovery strategies, including recent versions (2022/2019/2016/2012)
expertise in high availability, performance tuning, capacity planning, and advanced troubleshooting
experience with Azure database environments, automation using PowerShell/Azure CLI, and familiarity with PostGreSQL, CosmosDB, or Couchbase
background in configuration management, database security, and compliance (PCI/SOX), with Agile/Scrum team experience
understanding of Agentic AI fundamentals and experience automating support tasks
