Author technical documentation for administrators, operators, and business consultants for the core INSIS product and software modules.
Collaborate with various teams to produce exhaustive and accurate technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Author new documentation based on feature requirements, user stories, specifications, direct input from developers and SMEs, and first-hand use of the product.
Curate and proofread documentation to ensure linguistic accuracy and consistency of style.
Lead one or more software implementation projects as required by the Professional Services department, ensuring SME review and sign-off of all documentation updates.
Regularly monitor the product release calendar and independently plan documentation updates to ensure timely publication for each release.
Ensure that project documentation is accurate, version-controlled, and stored in the appropriate project repository.
Work with partner-facing organizations to collect feedback and incorporate it into documentation.
Enrich documentation with screenshots, flowcharts, and visuals to make it more user-friendly.
Proactively research product changes and determine the need and scope of edits and improvements.
Mentor more junior colleagues and share knowledge across the board.
Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of proven track-record as a Technical Writer or transferrable authoring experience in a software development environment.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and fluency in English (preferably backed up with certificate).
Proficiency using Atlassian Confluence and Jira software or other documentation publishing tools.
A systematic approach in learning, using, and writing about business applications, software, and technology.
Knowledge of Agile and Scrum workflows.
Solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
Impeccable time management and effective effort estimation.
Continuous learning and upskilling habits and practices.
Basic coding or scripting skills.
Experience documenting APIs or REST and SOAP web services.
Basic knowledge in PL/SQL.
Familiarity with ML/AI tools in aid of content creation and curation.
Previous professional exposure to the insurance or fintech domain.
