Perform site assessments, load calculations, and system evaluations to recommend optimal HVAC equipment and system designs (chillers, boilers, air handlers, rooftop units, heat pumps, controls, etc.)
Prepare professional sales proposals, equipment selections, specifications, submittals
Deliver technical presentations, product trainings, and lunch-and-learn sessions to engineers, contractors, and end-users
Manage the full sales process from lead generation and qualification through negotiation and closing
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at mechanical contracting firms, engineering firms, developers, and facility owners
Collaborate with internal teams (applications engineering, project management, service, and controls) to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction
Stay up-to-date with HVAC industry trends, codes, energy standards, and new technologies
Provide technical support on bid opportunities, value engineering, and specification reviews
Monitor competitor activity and identify new market opportunities
Accurately track opportunities and customer interactions in CRM (Salesforce or similar)
Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and gross profit goals
Prepare sales forecasts and activity reports
Requirements
A Bachelors qualified Engineer in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field (preferred).
Significant industry experience may substitute
3–8+ years of technical sales experience in HVAC equipment, systems, or related building mechanical products.
Solid understanding of HVAC fundamentals, psychrometrics, hydronics, airflow, controls, and energy efficiency
Proficient with HVAC selection and design software
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and control sequences.
A strong networker, ideally have existing relationships with local engineers and contractors
Ideally certified with a relevant HVAC industry body (e.g., APER, etc)
Ideally knowledgeable of building automation systems (BAS), DDC controls, and IAQ solutions
A strong technical problem-solver and consultative seller
An excellent communicator – able to translate technical details for non-technical audiences
Self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented
