Responsible for securing and growing major and planned gifts in support of the ALS Association’s strategic priorities and mission
Build philanthropic partnerships with individuals and foundations to secure planned gifts and outright gifts at the $5,000
$25,000 level
Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward supporters to growing revenue
Work as a partner to other Development staff to secure major and planned gifts from donors in their portfolios
Collaborate with Sr Director on fundraising strategies and goals
Maintain an attitude of abundance, persistence, and urgency
Must maintain up-to-date knowledge of mission related information on research, advocacy, and care services provided by the Association to inspire giving.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of professional major gift fundraising experience
Minimum of 3 years of professional planned giving experience, including discussing and closing gifts of bequests, beneficiary designations, and charitable gift annuities
Ability to travel up to 30%
A self-starter with outstanding communication skills
Experience in successfully engaging with a diverse staff and range of donors, volunteers, and community members
Collaboration skills required to partner with field Development colleagues involved in the achievement of Territory revenue goals
Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills

Ability to work with flexibility in a dynamic team environment and embrace organizational change
Commitment to learn and utilize new technologies to improve efficiency and implement strategy
Proven track record of closing gifts and meeting fundraising goals
