Role Overview
Lead coverage of a portfolio of clients owned by senior bankers / yourself, serving as a relationship contact and coordinating deal teams comprised of Analysts, Associates, and senior Credit Officers
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the energy sector; originate and expand client relationships by leveraging deep industry knowledge and an established network across E&P, Midstream, Power, and Clean Energy
Own and drive all facets of deal execution, including in-depth financial analysis, complex financial modeling, risk analysis, credit structuring, and due diligence for new and existing clients; serve as the senior reviewer and decision-maker on transaction deliverables
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, independently managing relationships and anticipating client needs; lead client meetings, pitches, and strategic dialogues with minimal oversight from senior bankers
Partner with and coordinate across internal teams — including Capital Markets, M&A, Technical Advisory, Loan Structuring & Syndications, Commodities, Treasury & Trade Services, and Operations — to deliver integrated, customized financial solutions that meet clients' evolving needs
Mentor, train, and develop junior Analysts and Associates on the team; provide constructive feedback, model best practices, and contribute to a high-performance team culture
Lead detailed company research and sector analysis to identify key trends, risks, and opportunities within the energy landscape, including the energy transition; proactively share market intelligence with clients and internal stakeholders
Serve as a steward of sound risk management practices; appropriately assess risk in all business decisions with particular consideration for the firm's reputation and the safeguarding of the bank, its clients, and assets. Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhere to Policy, apply sound ethical judgment, and escalate, manage, and report control issues with full transparency
Requirements
6–10 years of experience in energy corporate / commercial banking, with demonstrated progression of responsibility
Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of Oil & Gas companies — including Upstream (E&P) and Midstream — and the broader energy industry, including Power, Utilities, and Clean Energy Transition
Proven track record of independently managing client relationships and leading transaction execution from origination through close
Exceptional financial modeling skills and quantitative analytical ability; MS Excel and PowerPoint proficiency is expected at an expert level
Strong credit acumen with experience structuring complex credit facilities, reserve-based lending (RBL), and/or capital markets transactions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to senior clients and internal stakeholders
Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing or mentoring junior team members
Active FINRA Series 63 and Series 79 licenses required (or ability to obtain within 150 days of joining); SIE required
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus
